New Prop Approved for Piper FURY

MT-Propeller Silent 7-blade propeller installed on a Piper FURY PA46-600TP

MT-Propeller has received an EASA STC for the installation of its “Silent 7” 7-blade propeller for the Piper FURY.

The propeller is approved for the Piper PA46-600TP powered by Pratt & Whitney propeller turbines PT6A-42A and the PT6A-52 in the PA-46-701TP.

The FAA STC is in progress, according to officials with the German company.

According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht, the installation features:

  • Shorter takeoff distance by approxiately -10%
  • Enhanced climb performance by approximately 5%
  • Cruise performance increased by 2-3 knots

The natural composite blades also provide significant inside and outside noise reduction, company officials said, noting they have no life limitation and are repairable in case of a FOD.
