Epic Flight Academy has launched a six-month fast track pilot program.
Students commit to training seven days a week, dedicating 12 to 14 hours a day to flight training, simulator work, and study, according to officials with the flight school. Students can earn private pilot, instrument, commercial single-engine, and commercial multi-engine ratings in that time frame, they add.
“We’ve had many students bring incredible focus to their training over the years who’ve completed far ahead of the norm,” said Epic Founder and CEO Danny Perna. “So we developed this program with special savings for students with that kind of drive. They must maintain discipline, focus, and consistent time management.”
The program is currently available only at the New Smyrna Beach, Florida, campus. The estimated cost for tuition and non-tuition expenses is approximately $87,000 due to the launch special savings of $5,000.
Epic Flight Academy, founded in 1999, has 11 flight training campuses and two FAA Part 147 aircraft mechanic campuses.

I have reason to believe that Epic is very intense, and is not necessarily out to get there students from A-Z. Their priority is most certainly the money. I spoke with someone who left Epic Flight for that reason. Very fast paced, constantly changing instructors, and very little personal attention to the individual student.
Totally agree with the warnings here. Way too many comments on message boards trying to get a PPL in four months or less are popping up! It takes a lifetime to be a good pilot, years of aviation culture and reading to get the basic philosophy of flight safety. Sorry, but this is just wrong to put the speed of learning ahead of the basics of neurological learning and muscle memory. It’s hard enough sharing a traffic pattern with low time pilots who are uninterested in sharing the sky via the regulations.
I fear flying behind these 180 day wonders. No time to learn common sense and worse yet they were taught by other students who were most likely 180 day wonders. This school has nothing to brag about!
This is pure money- driven nonsense. There’s no seasoning-no opportunity to exercise judgment.
It’s a good thing the automation is getting better because the teaching sure isn’t.
I feel for the kids that commit to this program, and realize the only option available to them is a company willing to hold their hands while bringing them up to speed in the real world of professional flying.
Very intense. Little time to absorb. Train to only pass?
