The Museum of Flight in Seattle will host an evening meet-up and screening of the award-winning documentary “Sally” on June 11. The event honors astronaut Sally Ride, the first American woman to fly in space.
The evening will kick off with a beer and wine social hour at 6 p.m., offering drinks and snacks for purchase. The film screening will follow at 7 p.m. Directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Cristina Costantini, the documentary details the romance and sacrifices of the iconic astronaut, as told by her life partner of 26 years, Tam O’Shaughnessy.
The documentary previously won the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. Reviews note that “with Sally, Costantini delivers a doc that speaks to the heart and goals of someone who redefined what it means to break barriers,” according to Roger Ebert.com.
Tickets for the screening follow a “pay what you can” sliding scale ranging from $5 to $100.
