Spirit Sky Club, a first-of-its-kind private members’ club for aviators, has opened at Spirit of St. Louis Airport (KSUS).
The $13 million development takes the country club model and reimagines it for pilots — a place where members store their aircraft and their automobiles, then come back to use the property as a community for hangar dinners, members-only events, “cars and planes and coffee” weekends, and more, according to the founders.
Spirit Sky Club’s first phase includes 28 hangars on roughly eight acres at the north end of the field, with a community of approximately 30 members.
The founding roster includes a number of prominent St. Louis–area business owners and executives, whose aircraft range from single-engine pistons like the Cirrus SR-series up to light business jets such as the Cessna Citation, the founders noted.
“What we’re opening … is a community. It’s people who love aviation finally having a hangar that feels like home, and neighbors who care about it the same way they do,” said Alex Martin, a founding partner of Spirit Sky Club.
