Piston and Alternative Fuels Increase

National 100LL Self Service pricing increased 1.4% to average $6.42 per gallon, offering pilots an approximate 14% savings where self-serve options are available. Conversely, 100LL Full Service fell slightly by 0.3% to average $7.47 nationally. Alternative piston fuels also saw upward movement; UL94 Self Service rose 1.6% to average $7.41, and Mogas climbed 2.3% to average $5.48. According to company officials, both alternative fuels continue to show limited and highly regional availability nationwide.
Jet A Averages Decline
In contrast to piston fuels, Jet A prices dropped across all Lower-48 regions. National Jet A Full Service averaged $7.63 in June 2026, representing a 5.4% decrease. Excluding Alaska and Hawaii, Lower-48 Jet A Full Service averaged $7.54. The Great Lakes region recorded the largest absolute percent change month over month, with Jet A Full Service dropping 6.3% to average $7.03.

- Central: 100LL Self Service led regional increases, climbing 3.2% to average $6.14. Jet A Full Service in this region dropped 4.1% to $6.84.
- Great Lakes: 100LL Self Service rose 2.7% to $6.17, while 100LL Full Service increased 0.5% to $7.11.
- Southwest: 100LL Self Service increased 1.0% to $6.04, whereas 100LL Full Service declined 0.9% to $7.19.
- Northwest Mountain: 100LL Self Service increased 0.9% to $6.81, while 100LL Full Service showed no measurable change at $7.58.
Six-Month Price Trends

Over the past six months, national aviation fuel prices have remained elevated following a sharp increase during the spring. National 100LL Full Service rose 17.3% from $6.37 in January 2026 to $7.47 in June 2026. National Jet A Full Service increased 21.1% from $6.30 to $7.63 over the same period. Both fuel types moved sharply higher beginning in March 2026 amid developments in the Middle East, peaking in May 2026 before easing in June 2026.
