Every general aviation pilot knows the uneasy moment after takeoff: Did I remove all the covers? A single forgotten pitot cover, engine inlet plug, or tire chock can cause instrument failure, engine damage, or a runway incident — and a traditional preflight checklist relies entirely on memory, with no physical confirmation that every “Remove Before Flight” (RBF) item is truly stowed.
Smart Jet Aviation has introduced PreFlight Guard, an all-in-one smart pilot kit designed by a working pilot to close that gap. The kit organizes six essential items — pitot cover, static port cover, engine inlet covers, tail cover, yoke pin, and tire chocks — into a dedicated, sensor-equipped Smart Bag. Each item carries an embedded magnet and each foam slot contains a magnetic reed-switch sensor that registers the item the moment it is stowed.
A companion Smart Key Fob, mounted magnetically in the cockpit, confirms on an OLED display that all six items are accounted for. If anything is missing, the fob names the exact item, lights a red LED, and sounds an audible alarm after a 60-second grace period — at up to 300 feet of Bluetooth range, so the pilot is alerted before ever reaching the runway.
“I built PreFlight Guard because I’ve felt that gap myself,” said Ahmed Abdulleov, Founder of Smart Jet Aviation. “You do everything right, you’re distracted for 30 seconds by weather or a passenger or ATC, and one small item slips. This kit doesn’t replace your checklist or your judgment — it gives you a second set of eyes that never forgets. If it prevents even one incident, it’s done its job.”
What’s In The Kit
- Six sensor-monitored slots — pitot cover, static port cover, engine inlet covers, tail cover, yoke pin, and tire chocks.
- Smart Key Fob — OLED item display, 300-foot BLE 5.0 range, fuel-tank timer, 25-day standby, and magnetic cockpit mount.
- Built-in power system — a 10,000 mAh (Pro) or 20,000 mAh (Premium) power bank, 4-slot AA smart charger, and a dockable, rechargeable headlamp.
- Personalization — each kit is laser-engraved with the owner’s aircraft tail number at no extra charge for early reservations.
Pricing And Availability
PreFlight Guard is offered in two configurations: The Pro Kit at an early pre-order price of $349 (retail $499) and the Premium Kit — adding a 1000D Cordura duffel, a bag-powered digital thermometer, an analog compass, and double the battery capacity — at $499 (retail $699). The company is accepting $1 fully refundable reservations at PreFlightGuard.com, locking in early pricing and first-production priority ahead of public launch, which is expected in 2027.
