35th Annual Zenith Aircraft Homecoming Fly-In Slated for September

By General Aviation News Staff · August 11, 2026 · Leave a Comment

Zenith Aircraft Company will host its 35th annual Zenith Homecoming/Open Hangar Days & Fly-In Sept. 18-19, 2026, at its kit aircraft manufacturing factory at the Mexico Memorial Airport (KMYJ) in Mexico, Missouri.

The annual event is a homecoming for Zenith Aircraft customers from across the U.S., with many customers flying in to central Missouri with their completed Zenith kit aircraft, company officials noted.

The event include two days of activities, including educational seminars and workshops, an aircraft show, contests, and social activities, as well as a banquet dinner on Friday evening. Factory tours, aircraft building and flying demonstrations, and other activities also are planned.

Educational seminars and workshops will focus on various topics relating to airframe (the aircraft fuselage, wings and tail), engine, and avionics, as well as related topics, including STOL flying, transition training, engine and avionics installation, and more, according to Zenith officials.

Charlie Becker, Director of Chapters & Homebuilt Community Manager for the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), will share details about government issues that affect sport aircraft owners and builders, including FAA MOSAIC, Task Based Phase 1 flight testing, BasicMed, fuel issues, and flight safety, including preparing for your homebuilt’s first flight.

Also on hand will be dozens of vendors of products and services for Zenith customers, ranging from avionics and engines to insurance.

The Zenith Aircraft Homecoming, the premier annual event for Zenith customers and aviation enthusiasts, is presented by the Chris Heintz Foundation, a non-profit foundation to further the works of aeronautical engineer Chris Heintz (1938-2021) in ongoing education and support of his aircraft designs around the world.

Under the leadership of his son Sebastien Heintz, Zenith Aircraft Company continues to be a leader in the industry, producing the STOL CH 701 and STOL CH 750 models, as well as two-seat cross-country cruisers including the high-wing Zenith CH 750 Cruzer and the low-wing Zenith CH 650.
