FlightSense Expands Platform To Flight School Operations

FlightSense, a flight training platform used by more than 700 pilots, has expanded into flight school operations.

Founded in 2024 and led by Taylor Horsager, a commercial pilot and certified flight instructor, FlightSense is an AI-powered flight training platform that provides voice-powered lesson debriefing, ACS progress tracking, an AI aviation assistant trained on FAA documentation, and digital recordkeeping designed to support Part 141 requirements.

“Flight schools do not sell airplane time. They produce certificated pilots, and they have to prove it to the FAA,” said Horsager. “We started with the hardest part of that, the training record, because it is the part everyone else treats as an afterthought. Now the whole operation runs on top of it. A school can schedule, dispatch, and bill without the record ever falling out of sync.”

The expansion for flight schools includes:

• Scheduling: An organization-wide calendar for flights, ground lessons, solo flights, and check rides, with conflict detection and aircraft and member availability.
• Aircraft dispatch with a go or no-go flight release, a single pre-flight verdict that checks instructor and student compliance, aircraft status, open squawks, and live weather before a flight leaves the ramp.
• Maintenance and airworthiness tracking, including squawk reporting with photo attachments, inspection and airworthiness directive records, and a Do Not Fly squawk severity that blocks the next dispatch until resolved.
• Invoicing generated directly from a completed flight, with per-aircraft rates, tax handling, and audit-ready billing records. FlightSense’s invoicing supports building and tracking invoices, and the company plans to add online payment collection in a future release, officials noted.
• Compliance and currency alerts that surface expiring instructor qualifications, medicals, and flight reviews before anyone is out of currency.
