MT-Propeller has received an FAA STC for the installation of its two-blade propeller on the Maule MX-7-180, MX-7-180B, MX-7-180C, MXT-7-180, MX-7-180A, and MXT-7-180A powered by a Lycoming O-360-C1F engine.
This installation is already STC’d by EASA.
According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht, the installation features several advantages, including:
- Up to 22 pounds less weight than the original propellers
- Nickel leading edges
- Best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration-free propeller operations.
He added the MT-Propeller natural composite blades have no life limitation and are repairable in case of FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
MT-Propeller has 30 certified propeller models from two-blade to seven-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 5,000 hp, two-blade to four-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 350 hp, as well as two-blade fixed pitch propellers.
MT-Propeller holds more than 230 STCs worldwide and is an OEM supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry as well as 55% of the U.S. aircraft industry.
