One of the noteworthy stops along my journey was Brenham, Texas. After refueling the Cessna 150 and positioning it out of the way, I went inside the FBO. As I walked out, I paused to admire the sunset, capturing a memorable photo of N60127 as I embraced my new role as its owner.”

USS Hornet Museum exchanges rare artifacts with Doolittle Raid Memorial Hall in China

As part of the exchange, USS Hornet Museum volunteer and documentary filmmaker George Retelas delivered a rare original 16mm film reel depicting the Doolittle Raiders’ training at Eglin Field in March 1942. In return, the Doolittle Raid Memorial Hall presented the museum a fragment from aircraft No. 9, “Whirling Dervish” — one of the 16 B-25 bombers launched from the USS Hornet during the Doolittle Raid.

uAvionix introduces wearable alerting device for drone operators

The device audibly alerts UAS operators and visual observers to nearby ADS-B-equipped aircraft, “enhancing safety and operational awareness and allowing operators to maintain uninterrupted visual contact with their drones,” according to company officials.

Controller, student pilot contribute to near miss

ATC asked the student pilot if he had the airport in sight, because after the incident he was flying away from the airport on the departure leg. I do not think the Tower Controller ever realized the mistake nor was the light aircraft pilot instructed to call the Tower. I believe Tower may have been “behind the plane.”
