Set for Oct. 15-16 at Russell Regional Airport (KRMG), the air show will feature performances by civilian and military acts, in addition to the inaugural Airshow Racing Series. Tickets must be purchased in advance as no tickets will be sold on the day of the show.

This is just a small sampling of items found recently on the ramp, taxiways, and runway at my home airport, Knoxville Downtown Island Airport (KDKX) in Tennessee. Most were probably dropped by a careless pilot or passenger or left on an aircraft surface during pre-flight and then forgotten.

Paying it forward
Tuskegee Next Founder Steve Davis wants to give back to disadvantaged youth in his home town, Knoxville, Tennessee. Davis, who believes, “you can’t be what you can’t see,” plans to establish a branch of the program there permanently. Based in Chicago, Tuskegee Next has trained nearly 60 pilots since 2015.
