Picture of the Day: Flying through a postcard
Karissa Davan submitted this photo and note: “Departing on Runway 19L in Brunswick, Maine (KBXM) always provides an amazing sea view, but especially at sunset. This photo was taken on a departure in my Cessna 182R. The 200° view surrounds you with blinking lighthouses, lobster boats and, if your timing is just right, a stunning sunset looking toward Portland, Maine. It’s like flying through a postcard and it never gets old!”
Picture of the Day: The benefits of video games
Richard Hrezo submitted this photo and note: “My RV-7 was a collection of aluminum sheets when my grandson was born and he grew up as it came together. Now a veteran flyer, he focuses on the Garmin G3X as he keeps us straight and level. Who says video games have no benefits!”

Picture of the Day: Magneto The Aviator Dog
Jeff DeFreest submitted this photo and note: “My bride, Kari DeFreest, trusty hound Maggie (Magneto), and I are on a quest to stay at all of the 140 public use cabins on the 17 million acre Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska. We use our Skywagon on Edo 2960s to get around this vast area of boreal rainforest and the Inside Passage to get to many fly-in lake cabins. This photo was taken at one of the two amazing USFS cabins on Sitkoh Lake. Maggie enjoys most any outdoor adventure, but is also very attuned to the stealthy approach of brown bears.”
