Picture of the Day: Son’s first flight
Donnie Wall submitted this photo and note: “Pictured is Donnie Wall and my son, Theo, who is 2 years old. We are flying in our 1963 Beechcraft Musketeer. This is my son’s first flight with Dad, and he loved every minute of it.”
Picture of the Day: On the way to the fly-in
James Jinnette submitted this photo and note: “Flying to the 45 Taildragger Fly-In at the Flying M Sky Ranch at Lexington, N.C. This photo of my 1964 Champion 7GCB was taken by Marcus Smith from his J-3 Cub, as we flew west in the early morning with another Cub and a Cessna 140 to the fly-in.”
Pictures of the Day: Fall’s full glory
Bruce Spears submitted this photo and note: “A recent local flight to Margaree Airport (CCZ4) in on Cape Breton Island. The fall colors are in full glory here.”
Picture of the Day: A lovely day for gliding
Mats Fehrm of the Landskrona Flying Club in Sweden submitted this photo and note: “Another lovely day for gliding. The tow plane is our 180-hp Super Cub from 1959. The place is the southwest coast of Sweden. In the mirror you can see the glider and the Isle Ven between Sweden and Denmark. And in the background the Danish east coast.”
Picture of the Day: Chasing summer
Benjamin Redman submitted this photo and note: “A rare 7DC Champ on PK1500 Floats at season’s end.”
Picture of the Day: Future aviatrix
Nathan Mackey submitted this photo and note: “My daughter is 3 years old and loves airplanes. We took her to a local fly-in at York, S.C, and she was able to sit in a Piper Cub. While she was a little unsure at first, she loved it, and asks to go to the airport all the time. She might end up loving airplanes as much as her dad.”
Picture of the Day: After the storm
Robert Coverdill submitted this photo and note: “A frontal system passed through central Illinois last night and I flew towards the back side of it on a short flight. While getting ready to put the plane away I noticed the beautiful scene of storm clouds being splashed by the setting sun, and the reflection of the plane in the water puddle. It seemed photo worthy! This is a 1968 Cherokee Arrow.”
Picture of the Day: A rustic FBO
Ted Luebbers sent in this photo with a note: “Rustic FBO at the Greenville Municipal Airport (3B1) in Maine. They do have a courtesy car here.”
