We can never trust fuelers to properly secure fuel caps. PIC must always verify the cap is secure. Screw on caps must be checked by physically touching the cap and checking they are on tight!

Probable Cause: The pilot’s failure to ensure a proper fuel selector position before takeoff, which resulted in a loss of left engine power due to fuel starvation. Contributing to the accident was the pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control after the loss of left engine power.

Homeschool aviation program takes off at KAPA
A Colorado homeschool program’s aviation program has been recognized by Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, which has partnered with the program. The two are working together to promote aviation and offer flight training to homeschooled high school students.
