Copperstate slides dates to Oct. 26-29

Texas Fly-In adds showers, electrical and wi-fi

Organizers at the Texas Fly-In, formerly known as the Southwest EAA Regional Fly-In, have added several amenities for visitors to the May 11-14 event at Hondo Airfield, including new showers for campers, additional electric hook-ups for recreational vehicles, an ATM on the grounds, and wireless Internet access (WiFi) for exhibitors.

Geneseo Airshow, July 8-9

The Geneseo Airshow, put on by hundreds of volunteers from the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group (HAG), will take place at the Geneseo Airport in New York July 8-9.

DayJet to launch service in year end

Air taxi operator DayJet will launch service in the southeastern United States by year’s end. The Delray Beach, Fla.-based company will use Eclipse 500 jets for its “per-seat, on-demand” service. Eclipse expects FAA certification by June 30.

AES changes to REV

Aircraft Engine Services (AES), Inc. will market its V220 and V300T aircraft engines under the REV brand. Set for certification in the third quarter of 2006, the piston engines are undergoing testing and certification efforts at OEM manufacturers.

Houston Executive under construction

An airport under construction near Houston, Texas, already has a new name: Houston Executive Airport. Previously called South Waller County Airport, the facility is being built between Katy and Brookshire on 1,980 acres. The airport is slated to open next year.
