The case against flight instruction
Being a CFI can be a dull, repetitive, low-paying position where you work under a chief instructor who does little more than deride and insult their staff. One of my great memories of this adventure was to know that a handful of pilots, mechanics, and instructors were checking on our progress and well-being on FlightAware. Many gave us pointers on how to prep for this trip as it was my first long cross-country in very busy airspace. As of now, my wife and I are already planning the next flying adventure. Until then….”
