Hiller Aviation Museum to host Vertical Challenge Air Show
The 6th Annual Vertical Challenge Helicopter Air Show takes off June 18 at the San Carlos Airport and Hiller Aviation Museum in California. Solely dedicated to helicopters, it is the largest show of its kind in the nation.
Robinson ships 6,000th helicopter
Robinson Helicopter Co. recently delivered its 6,000th helicopter. Ship S/N 10699, an R44 Raven II, was presented to John Wadlow of Airborne Energy Solutions of Alberta, Canada, for use in the company’s charter fleet. The company, which now has 1,200 employees, is increasing production from 15 to 20 helicopters a week to meet growing demand.
Landsberg receives Aero Club Presidential Medal

Cessna Mustang makes first flight
Cessna’s newest entry-level bizjet, the Citation Mustang, made its maiden flight April 23. The 141-minute flight from McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita began with a climb to 11,000 feet where various stability and control tests were performed, including cycling of the landing gear, flaps, and speed brakes. General aviation shipments were up 15.7% in the first quarter of 2005, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). Industry billings for new airplanes rose to $2.7 billion.
