1st Hot Glass Fly-In set for May in Las Cruces
The first-ever Hot Glass Fly-In is set for May 20-22 at Las Cruces International Airport (KLRU) in New Mexico. The fly-in, expected to attract several hundred high performance composite aircraft, will showcase aircraft from manufacturers such as Lancair, Glasair, Tango, Burt Rutan’s Long-EZE, White Lightning and the new Nemesis NXT.
2004 shows decline in accident stats
Preliminary accident statistics for 2004 show a drop in several categories, including GA, according to the National Transportation Safety Board. Total number of accidents fell from 1,864 in 2003 to 1,715 in 2004. Fatalities dropped from 695 to 635. A majority of the fatalities occurred in general aviation and air taxi operations.
