When landing at Redding Regional Airport (KRDD) in California it was a very clear day. You can clearly see Mt. Shasta about 54 nm north of the airport as we prepare to land on Runway 34. Redding is at 505 MSL while Mt. Shasta tops out at 14,162 MSL.”

Officials with the Recreational Aviation Foundation and the Utah Back Country Pilots report that Rustler Canyon airstrip near Bears Ears National Monument is the newest backcountry airstrip to be added to the aeronautical chart.

Volunteers help clean up storm-ravaged North Fox Island
Volunteers from the Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) have met several times at North Fox Island Airfield (6Y3) in Michigan to help clean up the airfield after an early spring ice storm downed several hundred trees, many along the turf runway.
