Aviation Safety Reporting System

This is an unairworthy aircraft with no working radios, transponder, or ELT. Because it had been sitting for so long, it has grown mold and has corrosion all over the wings and fuselage.

I planned a flight knowing that I had slightly more than 1/2 tanks full and balanced. I preflighted but failed to check the wing top tank caps.

During this climb the other aircraft flew directly under my wing at a shockingly close distance. Had I not been in an aircraft with excellent climb and maneuvering performance, it could have ended very badly.

While on final the engine trouble started again but this time it was much more severe.

This has the potential to create an EXTREMELY dangerous and possibly deadly situation.

The runway light was damaged and the prop sustained damage as well. The runway light will need to be replaced, and the prop may be able to be repaired.

Once on the roadway, I realized things were not right. At that point, I received a call from Ground telling me I was on a service road. The service road was not on the FAA airport diagram, and I saw no signs indicating it was a service road where I entered it.

This aircraft was not transmitting transponder or ADS-B. No radio calls, just barreling into the pattern the wrong way.
