The National Aeronautic Association has determined the 11 “most memorable” aviation records from 2018 to 2021, including four related to airplanes, one for model aircraft, and one for a balloon pilot.

Volunteers honored for public benefit flying
“The toughest times often bring out the best in people and it is hard to imagine a tougher time than a global pandemic,” said NAA President Greg Principato. “Those we honor today stepped up at a difficult time to help others who needed it. The aviation community has an amazing history of stepping up. I not only congratulate this year’s Public Benefit Flying awardees, I also thank them for all they’ve done and will do.”
Tuskegee Airmen to receive Clifford Henderson Trophy
The trophy is awarded to “…a living individual, group of individuals, or an organization whose vision, leadership or skill made a significant and lasting contribution to the promotion and advancement of aviation and aerospace in the United States.”

2019 Stinson Trophy awarded to Shelly Simi
Simi is being recognized for “her accomplishments as a successful and passionate aviation professional and for dedicating over 25 years to opening minds and doors for women in pursuit of aviation opportunities of every kind.”
Dr. Peggy Chabrian named 2020 Cliff Henderson Trophy Recipient
