Second quarter avionics report released

The Aircraft Electronics Association’s recently released second-quarter 2014 Avionics Market Report shows that in the three-month period of April, May and June 2014, total worldwide business and general aviation avionics sales amounted to more than $652 million.

That represented a 2.7% increase in sales compared to the second-quarter 2013 amount of more than $635 million as reported a year ago by the participating companies.

First-quarter avionics report released

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — The Aircraft Electronics Association released its first-quarter 2014 Avionics Market Report, which shows that in the first three months of the year, total worldwide business and general aviation avionics sales amounted to more than $651 million.

That amount shows an 11.2% increase in sales compared to the first-quarter 2013 amount of more than $586 million.

AEA names Member of the Year

Michael Kus of Avionics 2000 Pty. Ltd. in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, was named the 2014 Member of the Year for the Aircraft Electronics Association; while top honors in the Associate Member of the Year Award category went to PS Engineering of Lenoir City, Tenn., during ceremonies at the association’s convention earlier this month.

AEA meets with House members to share industry challenges

Including lack of leadership at FAA  

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO. — On Thursday, Oct. 3, Aircraft Electronics Association Vice President of Government and Industry Affairs Ric Peri met with several members of the U.S. House of Representatives Small Business Committee, along with other general aviation leaders, for a round-table discussion on the biggest challenges facing the industry.
