Eclipse to launch national tour

By Meg Godlewski · November 4, 2005 ·

Eclipse Aviation is embarking on its first national tour to showcase the Eclipse 500 very light jet (VLJ). The first leg of the tour, slated for November, will cover seven cities from Tampa, Fla., to San Antonio, Texas.

Meanwhile, Eclipse has chosen Albany International Airport in New York as the site of its Northeast Factory Service Center. Eclipse plans seven such centers, including previously announced locations in Albuquerque, N.M., and Gainesville, Fla. Construction of the new Eclipse Aviation hangar in Albany is expected to begin in the spring of 2006 with completion later in the year. The Eclipse 500 is slated to achieve certification in the first quarter of 2006.
