Kansas City Aviation Center (KCAC) and Universal Avionics have teamed up to retrofit triple EFI-890R EFIS displays into the Pilatus PC-12 single-engine turboprop. KCAC, based at Johnson County Airport in Olathe, Kan., will hold the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the installations.
The EFI-890R displays are 8.9-inch diagonal, high-resolution displays that are fully integrated with the existing avionics in the PC-12. The displays offer advanced technology and display features such as synthetic vision, aeronautical charts, up-linked weather, TAWS, video and a host of other emerging applications.
The high-resolution, large-format displays replace the existing ADI, HSI, radar indicator, altimeter, VSI, RMI and airspeed indicators.
The first phase of the installation process has begun. Final flight testing will be completed in the second quarter of 2006.
