My Dad use to pay me to update his Jeppesen approach plate binders.
Sigh.
Those were the days.
Reading about Jeppesen sunsetting their printed products takes me back.
I also remember touring Jeppesen’s printing operation back in the late 1980s. There are perks to being “in the biz.” Perhaps it’s only a perk if you like watching huge presses lay down thin layers of ink on big rolls of paper. Maybe it’s just me.
That quote Captain Elrey Borge Jeppesen at the top of the chart in the photo above says it all, “I didn’t develop the chart to get famous. I did it to stay alive.”
But fear not. You can still buy paper charts.
Just not from Jeppesen.
