The Fresno Fashion Fair Mall in California will host an unusual display in its center court this week – an airplane. To reach a new audience, Central Valley Sport Planes Inc., located at Fresno’s Downtown Chandler Airport, is partnering with T-Bird Aviation and Remos Aircraft to display a new Remos LSA (pictured) at the mall’s center court July 9-12 to inspire shoppers to spread their wings and learn to fly.
The purpose of the event is to attract those who may have an interest in learning how to fly but are not sure how to become involved or get started, organizers said.
Also on hand and volunteering his time for the event will be Nicholas Wood, also known as “The Seven Day Wonder.” After beating cancer twice in his life, he accomplished his dream and earned his Sport Pilot certificate in just seven days. Now partnered with Central Valley Sport Planes, he is committed to assisting others achieve their dreams of flight.
During the event, a limited number of Discovery Flights will be made available through Central Valley Sport Planes at a discounted price. Discovery Flights include a brief ground school course with a flight instructor, followed by a safety preflight of the Valor LSA, and concludes with a brief flight where the student will actually take the controls of the plane and fly. During the event the price of the Discovery Flights will be $89.99.
