DOT Secretary to attend GA rally

By Janice Wood · March 15, 2011 ·

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), in partnership with Cessna Aircraft Co., is hosting a general aviation rally Monday, March 21, at Cessna’s headquarters in Wichita featuring U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Raymond LaHood, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, Senator Jerry Moran, and Congressman Mike Pompeo.

The rally will be held at Cessna with a crowd of 2,000 employees from Cessna, Bombardier Learjet, Hawker Beechcraft and other GAMA member company employees. Many local community and business leaders will also be in attendance.

The GA industry contributes more than $7 billion to the Kansas economy each year, due much in part to Wichita as a leading GA manufacturing center in the U.S., according to GAMA officials.
