More than 200 customers, pilots, and Eclipse enthusiasts attended the Second Annual Eclipse Aerospace Customer Event in Albuquerque, N.M., in May.
The event kicked off with a joint keynote presentation from Mason Holland, Chairman and CEO of Eclipse Aerospace, Inc., and Jeff Pino, President of Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. In a two-hour presentation, both Holland and Pino discussed the depth of the partnership between Eclipse Aerospace and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, focusing on supply chain synergies and Eclipse’s current path towards production restart, according to Eclipse officials.
Following the joint keynote, Cary Winter, SVP of Engineering, provided an engineering and service update highlighted by the announcement of Eclipse’s completion of all recertification tests for PhostrEx. With all testing now complete, PhostrEx, the fire engine-suppression system on the Eclipse aircraft, is expected to receive full FAA certification within a few weeks, company officials said.
The balance of the three-day event included informational presentations by Pratt & Whitney Canada, Innovative Solutions & Support, SIMCOM Training Centers, and members of the Eclipse 500 Owners Club, who co-sponsored the event.
“This year’s event has set a precedent for years to come,” said Holland.
