Zenith Aircraft Co.s “Fly In To Summer” Builder Fly-In Gathering is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, at the Zenith factory located at Mexico Memorial Airport (MYJ) in Mexico, Missouri. All aviation enthusiasts, but especially builders and owners of Zenith Aircraft kit planes, are invited to drive or fly-in for the day.
This is an informal grass-roots fly-in gathering open to all aviation enthusiasts. The event runs from 8 am – 3pm on Saturday. Owners of completed Zenith Aircraft are encouraged to fly-in for the activities and to show off their completed project to fellow builders.
The gathering is an excellent opportunity for owners and builders of Zenith Aircraft planes to meet with each other and to tour the Zenith Aircraft facilities, where the kits for the Zeniths are produced, according to company officials. The company’s kit and Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) models will be on display, including the high wing STOL CH 750 and a new low-wing ZODIAC CH 650 with a ULPower engine installation.
On the two days prior to the Fly-In Gathering, Zenith is hosting one of its factory workshops where participants gain hands-on kit aircraft building experience. (Prior registration is required to attend the workshop).
Later this year, Zenith will host its annual Open Hangar Day and Fly-In Gathering: The 20th annual fly-in is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Zenith factory. Starting Friday, a number of educational workshops and seminars are scheduled, including an engine installation and maintenance sessions, as well as seminars on inspecting and pre-flighting aircraft. Last year’s event included engine seminars by Rotax, Jabiru and UL Power, avionics seminars by Garmin and Dynon, an aircraft painting seminar by Lohle Aircraft, as well as Zenith kit building seminars and workshops in the Zenith factory, as well as a builder dinner banquet.
The Zenith Aircraft kit production facilities will be open for factory tours on Saturday. Company staff will demonstrate kit production and fabrication techniques used in producing the all-metal kit aircraft parts made at the Zenith Aircraft factory. The company’s kit and LSA models will be on display, and various suppliers also plan to attend to showcase their products and meet with builders and owners.
