#OSH11: ‘Flying Car’ production prototype debuts at AirVenture

By Janice Wood · July 27, 2011 ·

Terrafugia is debuting the production prototype of its Transition Roadable Aircraft — also known as the “Flying Car” at Oshkosh this week.

The production prototype is the first Transition to be built entirely from production tooling, according to company officials.

Though not yet 100% complete, the aircraft is “coming together well and validating weight estimates,” officials add. Following the show, the remaining systems will be completed and testing will begin. A second production prototype, Terrafugia’s third aircraft, is currently under construction.
