By Janice Wood · August 17, 2011 ·

StandardAero has named Robert Lummus Vice President and General Manager of StandardAero Business Aviation’s Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) facility. Lummus had been serving as the facility’s VP/GM in an acting capacity since April.

Lummus will focus on all of the site’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services and maintaining FAA, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and other governing global aviation agency authorizations and certifications. In addition, he will ensure LAX continues to meet and exceed all OEM, local, state and national regulatory requirements, company officials said.

Lummus previously served as LAX’s Director of Operations where he was responsible for profitability of engine operations, as well as overall customer satisfaction and engine growth. Prior to joining StandardAero, he served in a variety of engineering and leadership roles with McDonnell Douglas Corporation and Landmark Aviation. Lummus was also an aircraft mechanic lead while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps where he led the repair and overhaul of aircraft engines and aircraft systems.

He is a graduate of Embry Riddle University where he earned his Master of Business Administration degree and his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics with minor studies in aircraft safety.

StandardAero Los Angeles is a Honeywell Authorized Service Center (ASC) for inspections, repair and overhaul of the Honeywell TFE731, CFE738 and TPE331 engine product lines. LAX performs maintenance, preventive maintenance and alterations on: Bombardier, Dassault Falcon Jet, Gulfstream, Embraer, and Hawker Pacific (Hawker) aircraft. The facility also maintains ASC agreements for the Falcon Jet, Bombardier, Rockwell Collins, and the Embraer product lines.
