It’s not often you can do something for the first time, again. Team RV has had a year to anticipate its return to Sun ’n Fun to debut its one-of-a-kind performance before aviation enthusiasts from all over the world.
“We can’t wait to fly at SUN ‘n FUN and gauge response from this crowd. It’s a rite of passage that we have looked forward to for two years now” said Mike “Kahuna” Stewart, Flight Lead for Team RV.
Last year’s stormy weather not only canceled the Sun ’n Fun airshow and the team’s performance for two days, but also destroyed two of the aircraft in the team’s fleet and damaged six others.
“Our fleet suffered a lot of damage, but we have great insurance coverage with NationAir, and with their help we quickly picked up the pieces and moved on to a fantastic season,” Stewart said.
With 12 pilots, Team RV is the world’s largest airshow team. It presents an action-packed display of close formation, opposing passes, difficult rejoins, and graceful aerobatics. Spectators can see them fly on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 27-28.
