Museum to hold special observation Monday

By Janice Wood · April 5, 2012 ·

Against the backdrop of Passover, the liberation of the Nazi death camps will be observed at the American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, N.Y., Monday, April 9.

Attending the commemoration will be Holocaust survivors, liberators, members of the clergy and school students.

The program is being held during the week when the notorious Buchenwald concentration camp was liberated by American G.I.’s in 1945. An interfaith program will be held against a backdrop of World War II American armor that are similar to those that knocked down the gates to the death camps.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m
