Birthday parties take flight at the Air Zoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Air Zoo guests looking for high-flying fun can now choose from three customized birthday party packages.

Build Your Own Birthday Party: Customize your birthday party with this package, which costs $8 per person and includes a Co-Pilot wristband for each guest. From there, you may upgrade your wristband package and add themed activities, cupcakes and cake for additional fees.

SR-71 Surprise Package: The Air Zoo also offers the SR-71 Surprise Package, which features Ultimate Ace wristbands for guests to enjoy the Air Zoo’s rides and attractions, a personal host/hostess, private party space and a themed activity. It also includes popcorn, cupcakes, refreshments, along with invitations and thank you cards for $240.

Ultimate Flying Tiger Package: The Ultimate Flying Tiger Package includes everything in the SR-71 Surprise Package, plus a gift for the birthday child, goodie bags, lunch and disposable tableware. This all-inclusive birthday party package costs $330.

The Air Zoo is a nonprofit organization located at 6151 Portage Rd. in Portage, Mich. It is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and offers a restaurant, gift shop and banquet facilities. General admission is $8 per person. Unlimited rides and attractions may be purchased with a wristband package (Ultimate Ace-$15, Junior Flyer-$12, Co-Pilot-$8), which includes general admission, or tickets can be purchased individually for rides. Children who are 4 years old or younger are free.
