The Canadian SkyHawks parachute team, the official skydiving team of the Canadian Forces, will make its first appearance at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in 2012 with performances during the daily afternoon air show. This year’s Oshkosh is slated for July 23-29 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.
The SkyHawks will be performing Friday-Sunday, July 27-29, at Oshkosh, showcasing their skills through a variety of aerial maneuvers, formations, and other feats beneath their Canadian flag parachute canopies.
Now in their 41st season, the SkyHawks will perform before millions of people at show
s in North America, Brazil and Belgium. The unit has evolved from the initial unofficial team of sport parachute members of the Canadian Airborne Regiment in 1969 to today’s highly trained unit that is part of the Canadian Forces’ Centre of Excellence for Land Advanced Warfare.
