The government’s certification process is one of the biggest issues facing aircraft manufacturers in the development or upgrading of products, according to a report in The Wichita Eagle, which notes: “The FAA reviews and signs off on every piece of paper, every drawing and every compliance area,” which creates a problem when the amount of new products is on the rise, but FAA resources are diminishing, creating a bottleneck for general aviation development.
