Airshow performers Team RV is changing its name to Team AeroDynamix with the onset of the 2013 airshow season. Team RV Founder and Flight Lead Mike Stewart said the new name better communicates the high entertainment nature of the team’s precision formation aerobatic performance.
“As Team AeroDynamix, we are the same pilots under the same leadership, flying the same dynamic airshow expected of us,” he said, noting that despite increased popularity and name recognition as Team RV, the name creates a brand conflict for spectators, many who know the letters “RV” as “recreational vehicle.”
Although the decision to change the name was made months ago, the team chose to complete the 2012 season as Team RV and follow the airshow business cycle to the end of the year, officials said. The team will attend the 2012 International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) Convention Dec. 10-13 as Team AeroDynamix and fly its first show as Team AeroDynamix Jan. 18 at the US Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring, Fla.
Team AeroDynamix combines aerobatics with precision formation. Members fly their own homebuilts Van’s RV aircraft, performing day and night routines nationally and internationally at airshows, aviation expos, civic festivals, special events, and sporting events.

Im building a RV9A and saw the YOU TUBE video on TEAM AERO DYNAMIX and thought it would be cool to have what appears to flames going out from under the planes. Real neat effect! Is it a light shinning through the smoke trail? How do they do that? EAA chapter 292. Independence Oregon
