Aeromedix has introduced its new compact CO Expert 2014 low-level carbon monoxide detector.
The CO Expert has long been the leader in portable aviation CO detectors but the size was inconvenience in some cramped cockpits, according to company officials. Using new technology, Aeromedix has been able to reduce the detector size by two thirds, officials add.
Additional improvements include an integrated lithium battery and a five-year warranty.
The CO Expert 2014 alerts at the low level of 10 PPM compared to other units that only alarm once 50 PPM is reach.
“In aircraft, you want to know when carbon monoxide exposure is beginning, not just when it is dangerous,” company officials said.
