The 4th Annual Oceano Airport Celebration is set for May 10-11 at the Oceano Airport (L52). Can you think of a better way to celebrate Mother’s Day? Nope, neither can I.
Festivities kick off Friday night with a Beach Burger Fry and Dance. Tickets for the dinner/dance are $10 and available from http://friendsofoceanoairport.com/ or at the gate.
On Saturday, Celebration Day begins at 8:30 with the 5-Cities Lion’s Club famous pancake breakfast.
On display will be emergency responders, private airplanes, gyro-copters, trikes and more. In our campground there will be children’s activities and booths. If you’ve ever wanted to sky dive, take the jump with Pismo Beach Sky Dive out of L52. Or grab a ride over our famous Oceano Dunes and Pismo Beach in Banner Airways 1943 Stearman bi-plane.
Overnight camping is available for $10.
Further information is available at 805 305-1506 or 805 709-6619.
Thank you Ben Sclair and General Aviation News for highlighting this wonderful event. These types of airport events are a win, win, win for everyone. At Oceano Airport Celebration, we salute and honor our Veterans/collect “care package” items to send to our over seas front line troops. Our airport day provides an opportunity to help educate local folks about the positive aspects the airport brings to their community. In addition, it gives pilots a terrific reason to fly their airplane. Fly, drive or walk-in, all are invited to come and have a great time celebrating our “little slice of paradise”, Oceano Airport [L52].
If you don’t have an airport day, consider organizing one. It is a great way to show how your airport is a good neighbor in your community.
