Czech Sport Aircraft’s PS-28 Cruiser has won the Aerokurier Innovation Award 2014 in the category of Aircraft Of The Future.
The readers of Aerokurier recognised the PS-28 Cruiser as the most innovative aircraft of the future within its respective category, according to company officials, who received the award during Aero Friedrichshafen.
Upon receiving the award, Martin Jurík, Chief Executive Officer Czech Sport Aircraft, said, “Czech Sport Aircraft is honored to be receiving this award today. This is without doubt a great testimony and credit to the hard work and effort that has been put in over the years by Czech Sport Aircraft engineers. The company is very much committed to innovation and the technological enhancements announced this morning certainly confirms that. We intend to further strengthen the position of the aircraft on the market and we thank Aerokurier and its readers for the recognition they have given to the PS-28 Cruiser.”
Commenting after handing over the award to Czech Sport Aircraft, Volker K. Thomalla, Editor-in-Chief Aerokurier, said, “The PS-28 Cruiser is very much here and available on the market today, however, the perception of our readers is that this aircraft demonstrates innovation potential and for this reason was the winner in this category. The PS-28 Cruiser is a strong recognized brand and is clearly having huge success in the flight training segment of the market. Of course, I am just the messenger and this is the opinion of our qualified readers.”
The PS-28 Cruiser is a double-seat aircraft of full metal construction. The aircraft is arranged as a low-wing mono-plane with cantilevered wings and conventional empennage. The PS-28 Cruiser is type certified by EASA for VFR Day operations according to the CS-LSA certification regulation and can be fully commercially operated in EASA countries or in countries where the PS-28 Cruiser obtained local CAA type certification.
More than 500 PS-28 Cruiser and SportCruiser have been produced. Over 200 aircraft are operating in the USA and almost 200 aircraft are operating in Europe.
The PS-38 Tourer is the first step in the evolution of the Czech Sport Aircraft product family based on the PS-28 Cruiser. Currently in development, the PS-38 Tourer is a single engine, all-metal, high-wing monoplane of semi-monocoque structure with two side-by-side seats.
Czech Sport Aircraft is evaluating type certification of the PS-38 Tourer according to either the CS-VLA or ELA 1 certification regulation in Europe.

That was random. Perceptions of Aerokurier’s readers are very odd.
