EAA launches AirVenture volunteer program for college students

By General Aviation News Staff · March 3, 2015 ·

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — College-age aviation enthusiasts have a pathway to Oshkosh this year with a new Collegiate Volunteer Program for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015. The 63rd annual fly-in convention for the Experimental Aircraft Association takes place July 20-26 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.

The program is designed for college students, whether or not they are aviation majors, who want to join the more than 5,000 volunteers who help out at the annual event that draws more than 10,000 aircraft and 500,000 people to Oshkosh each year. Volunteers are welcome in nearly every area of AirVenture operations.

Days and hours for volunteers are flexible, with assistance welcome in areas ranging from aviation-related activities to grounds, customer service, and event operations.

In addition, EAA is working with aviation programs at numerous colleges and universities to bring groups of volunteers to Oshkosh. Some of those campuses include Ohio State University, Purdue University, University of North Dakota, University of Central Missouri, University of Dubuque, and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, but volunteers are welcome from all schools.

More information is available through the program page on the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh website and through EAA’s human resources office at [email protected].
