Take Flight 5K Charity Challenge at KGMU

By General Aviation News Staff · May 4, 2015 ·

The Take Flight 5K will be held Saturday, May 23, at Greenville Downtown Airport (KGMU) in Greenville, South Carolina.

PrintThe race will depart from Runway Park, which is located next to the Runway Cafe at 21 Airport Road Extension.

“Most people have a charity that they help support, so this year, in addition to raising money to complete Runway Park at the Greenville Downtown Airport, we have added a new feature to our race: A charity challenge,” said Joe Lanahan, Take Flight 5K Race Director. “People can sign up without being on a charity team, as they always have, this is just a new race feature.”

P1000657Want to take the Charity Challenge? Register a team of four runners (at least one must be female) to participate in Take Flight 5k. When folks register for the race they will be asked to pick a charity team.

TakeFlight5KCourseMapEncourage them to pick yours and $1 from each runner will go to your non-profit group. Also, the team that has the fastest combined time for its top three runners will earn an additional $250 for its charity and the team that signs up the most participants will earn an additional $250 for its charity.

Reserve your team now by emailing [email protected] for a team registration form. Once received, this information will be added to the online registration site so each of the team’s runners and all their supporters can select the charity’s team.
