The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) has introduced the Adapt to Fly Scholarship, which will award $5,000 to a person with a disability for flight training.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Central Time on Nov. 1, 2021. Scholarships will be awarded by the end of November 2021, EAA officials said.
The scholarship will to given to a person with a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The winner also must meet the qualifications for a Class 3 Medical or Sport Pilot Certificate, which include, but are not limited to, being at least 17 years of age, a U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license, and able to operate the controls of a training aircraft.
