Piper opens applications for 2022 apprentices

By General Aviation News Staff · December 13, 2021 ·

VERO BEACH, Florida — Piper Aircraft has opened the application period for its 2022 Apprenticeship Program.

The 2022 group will begin in August at Piper Aircraft’s world headquarters in Vero Beach. The two-year program includes a combination of on-the-job training, as well as classroom instruction designed to qualify the participants as a Journeyman in Aircraft Assembly. Each apprentice is a paid employee of Piper Aircraft and receives a full benefits package.

The accredited apprenticeship program, which is conducted in cooperation with Indian River State College, began in August 2019 and was created in response to the increasing demand for high quality manufacturing employees at Piper Aircraft. The first group of apprentices, which began in 2019, graduated in the summer of 2021. The second class is currently in the final stage of their apprenticeship and will graduate in August 2022.

The 2022 application can be found on the Piper website under the Careers tab.

Applications are due May 31, 2022. Interviews will be scheduled for the week of June 25, 2022 for eligible applicants.

For questions regarding the program, email [email protected].
