uAvionix free update adds wind speed and more to AV-30

By General Aviation News Staff · October 2, 2025 · Leave a Comment

uAvionix has received FAA approval for software version 3.1.1 for the AV-30-C multifunction panel display.

The release brings new features and performance enhancements to the certified AV-30-C previously introduced on the experimental AV-30-E in July 2025, according to company officials.

Company officials note that Version 3.1.1 introduces tools that improve safety, usability, and integration, including:

  • Improved Angle of Attack (AoA) for accurate performance down to 25 knots
  • Wind speed and direction estimation
  • Aural alerts for altitude settings, helping pilots maintain desired flight levels
  • Integration with echoESX and tailBeaconX ADS-B transponders configured from AV-30
  • Flight plan underlay on the traffic page, improving context for traffic avoidance.

“With software version 3.1.1, we’re delivering more of the features our customers have asked for most,” said John Chargo at uAvionix. “Each update increases the value pilots get from their AV-30-C, making flying safer and more enjoyable.”

The software update is available now for download at uAvionix.com/Support/AV-30-C.
