34th annual Fly/In Cruise/In sets records

By Sparky Barnes · October 8, 2025 · 1 Comment

The 34th annual Fly/In Cruise/In, held Aug. 30, 2025, at Marion Municipal Airport-McKinney Field (KMZZ) in Marion, Indiana, attracted hundreds of people, who took the opportunity to stroll along the hangar rows and fields to behold a diverse array of vehicles.

Among the estimated 175 aircraft in attendance were contemporary, classic, vintage, and experimental airplanes. There also were classic and vintage automobiles, vintage farm tractors, Pulse Autocycles, and vintage military equipment on the grounds during the fly-in.

A few of the showcased aircraft this year included a Curtiss P-40, Grumman Bearcat, pre-war Chief, Cessna Birddog, and Adrian Eichhorn’s globe-girdling Bonanza.

Rides were available (for a fee) in a T-6 and in the “Goodfolk and O’Tymes” New Standard biplane.

This highly-popular, half-day event is organized by Ray and Judy Johnson, and proceeds from the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast (served by an army of volunteers) benefit the Grant County Rescue Mission.

Organizers noted a record 3,782 breakfasts were served, including 15,000 pancakes, 12,000 sausages, and more than 5,700 cups of coffee.
