The Flight School Association of North America (FSANA) will host the fourth annual Designated Pilot Examiners (DPE) Symposium Nov. 12-14, 2025, in Irving, Texas.
The event will bring together DPEs, flight school operators, chief flight instructors, and FAA representatives from across the United States, according to FSANA officials.
The first two days of the symposium will include sessions dedicated to helping DPEs perform their roles effectively and stay current with evolving FAA guidance, according to association officials. Topics will cover MOSAIC regulatory updates, IACRA and DMS best practices, documenting check rides, and managing applicant scheduling and demand.
Special concurrent sessions will also address plans of action development and how to become a DPE, FSANA officials said.
On Nov. 14, the FAA will conduct a live, in-person recurrent training course that satisfies the 24-month DPE currency requirement, marking the first time this opportunity has been offered at the symposium.
“The DPE Symposium is a must-attend event, bringing examiners and the FAA together to improve standardization and strengthen the examiner community,” said FSANA President and CEO Robert Rockmaker. “This event helps ensure DPEs have the tools, knowledge, and collaboration they need to maintain consistency, fairness, and excellence in pilot testing nationwide.”
