In Part 2 of our new series, “Where’s Jamail?” we catch up with Jamail Larkins, the FAA Ambassador for Aviation & Space Education, in Fort Worth, Texas, as he travels the country on his DreamLaunch tour, spreading the good news about aviation to students.
During the stop in Fort Worth, which was sponsored by Tempest Aero, Jamail noted that when he shared the fact with the students that eVTOL aircraft were going to be flying in some cities before they graduated high school, “it was one of the coolest reactions I’ve seen this year.”
“The idea that they might have the chance to not only fly on them, but have the chance to fly or maintain them brought so many smiles in the audience,” he shares. “I have no doubt a few of them might end up in this emerging segment of general aviation.”
North of 700 students had the opportunity to learn about all the career opportunities in aviation, including Christian who is planning on enrolling in an A&P school after graduation, he added.

Question of the Day: How did you buy an airplane in high school?
Jamail’s Answer: “I developed relationships with as many people as I could. Whether your goal is to buy an airplane, get into college, start up your own company, or just get a job, the more people you have a real relationship with, the more opportunities that will be available to you. So, make sure you do your best to connect and leave a good impression with your teachers, mentors, and anyone that works in the field you are interested in.
