FAA grants STC approval for Heatwave Floats

The FAA has granted an STC for Heatwave Floats, amphibious scooping floats designed for the Air Tractor AT-802A.

“Heatwave Floats have been engineered from the ground up to enhance safety, improve water handling, and to meet the intense demands of Rapid Initial Attack firefighting,” said Dan Garrett, President and Founder of Momentum Aeronautics.

Heatwave floats are already sold out for 2025 delivery, according to company officials, who note the company is now accepting orders for 2026 deliveries.
