Aircraft Spruce & Specialty Co. has partnered with Dream Flights, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring military veterans and seniors with the flight of a lifetime.

Through the new collaboration, Aircraft Spruce will provide ongoing support to help Dream Flights maintain its fleet of restored Boeing Stearman biplanes, ensuring these historic aircraft remain flight-ready for veterans across the country, Aircraft Spruce officials said.

“Aircraft Spruce has always been more than just a parts supplier. We are a part of the aviation family,” said Jim Irwin, President of Aircraft Spruce. “Dream Flights does incredible work bringing joy and a sense of freedom to our nation’s heroes. We are honored to stand with them as partners and contribute to a mission that celebrates both our veterans and the golden age of flight.”

Since 2011, Dream Flights has provided free flights in Stearmans to nearly 8,000 senior veterans in 49 states.

“The Boeing Stearman is one of the most iconic training aircraft in aviation history, and for many World War II veterans, it was where their military journey began,” said Darryl Fisher, founder of Dream Flights. “Every detail — from the open cockpit to the radial engine — is preserved to deliver an authentic flight experience. Partnering with Aircraft Spruce ensures these historic aircraft receive the care and craftsmanship they deserve, ensuring they remain safe, airworthy, and true to their legacy.”

That is a wonderful article about Aircraft Spruce and Specialty Company. They are a fine, upstanding bunch of people. Honoring veterans in this way, along with their partner, Dream Flights, are to be congratulated for this effort.
